electrodiagnostic
evaluation + testing

Electrodiagnostic tests measure the electrical activity of muscles and nerves. By measuring the electrical activity they are able to determine if there is nerve damage, the cause of the damage, and if the damaged nerves are responding to treatment.

Intro

About

We stay up to date with current research in regards to electrodiagnostic medicine following both the AANEM guidelines for electrodiagnostic medicine as well as the Mayo clinical guidelines to ensure that the data collected has the highest sensitivity and specificity for determining the underlying cause of your patient’s neurological conditions. For instance in borderline carpal tunnel cases, we use the digit IV median ulnar comparison study which has an estimated sensitivity and specificity of 89% and 97.5% respectively(1). Similar methodology is applied in such cases as the sural to radial ratio comparison study in Polyneuropathy. Finally, we ensure to consistently monitor limb temperature ensuring that limbs never fall below their appropriate values, cold limbs result in artificial slowing of the nerves which can have drastic influence on data collection. This is also one of the most common pitfalls of nerve conduction data collection.

Meet dr. johnson

My name is Dr. Kody Johnson, and I am a Pensacola native that is passionate about electrodiagnostic medicine(NCV/EMG studies). With the exception of my doctoral schooling, I have lived my whole life in Pensacola. The reason I returned to Pensacola is because I care about the health and well-being of those along the Gulf Coast, I am not a large corporation that is only concerned with budget; I am a real person that puts your patient’s needs first.
